PEARL JAM's EDDIE VEDDER Maps Out Second Solo Tour

July 3, 2008

The Pulse of Radio reports that PEARL JAM singer Eddie Vedder will head out on another leg of solo tour dates in August on the East Coast, according to Billboard.com. The vocalist launched his first-ever solo tour last April, which only visited stops on the West Coast. The new run will kick off with a two-night stand in Boston on August 1 and August 2, ending with two shows in Chicago three weeks later. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on July 11, with PEARL JAM fan club members getting a crack at them on July 7.

Vedder's earlier solo run featured a mix of lesser known PEARL JAM songs, a number of covers and tunes from his soundtrack for the 2007 movie "Into the Wild".

PEARL JAM played a private benefit show at New York's Beacon Theatre on Tuesday night (July 1) that raised $3 million for the anti-poverty Robin Hood Foundation. Floor seats for the show went for more than $2,000.

The group's 26-song set list included covers of NEIL YOUNG's "Harvest Moon" and BOB DYLAN's "Masters of War".

Vedder got political during the show, bashing the Bush Administration and noting that there would be a new President the next time PEARL JAM played in New York.
